FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP’S ACTIONS TO BE MOST EFFECTIVE, CONGRESS MUST GIVE THE ADMINISTRATION THE RESOURCES IT NEEDS

“In the coming weeks, I'm looking forward to working with Congress on a reconciliation bill that financially takes care of our plans to totally and permanently restore the sovereign borders of the United States once and for all…” – President Donald Trump

  • “Trump said the increase should include funding for more border security personnel and retention bonuses for Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel and border patrol agents. The extra money should also pay for more detention beds, border security infrastructure and barriers, and completion of the border wall along the border with Mexico…” (Reuters: Trump calls on US Congress to boost funding for border security – 1/27/25)
  • “The more money we have, the more we can do. And I think this election proves that the American people support the removals of criminal aliens in this country. So I’m looking for Congress to come through and give us the budget we need.” – White House Border Czar Tom Homan
  • “ICE was facing a $230 million budget shortfall even before Trump took office and ramped up deportations, when it averaged around 282 arrests per day.” (NBC News: Trump administration may pull money from TSA, Coast Guard to help ICE afford costly deportations – 1/28/25)
  • “We need Congress to give us money to get this done. Because I don't know how many resources I have. I don't know how much money I want to have to buy beds. I don't how much money I will have to buy transportation contracts. That's why it's imperative on Congress and reconciliation to give us the money we needed to do this. I think the mandate given by the American people, from the election, is they want this done. A majority of Americans thinks it's the right thing to do. A vast majority of Americans think public safety threats that are here illegally, should be removed. So, it all depends on the funding I get from the Hill.” – White House Border Czar Tom Homan
